REELS

Betts Fishing Center carries a large selection of both freshwater and saltwater reels.  We stock product from Daiwa, Shimano, Penn, Quantum, Zebco, Abu Garcia, Avet, and more.

Unfortunately, there is not one reel that is good for all types of fishing.  A reel that is great for fighting Amberjack in the Gulf, is just not suitable for pulling crappie out of a lake.   But our experienced associates know our product lines and which ones are the best for any particular application.  Best of all, they all fish and spend all day talking to anglers, getting feedback on equipment, and learning new products.   And while we would never divulge "secrets"  we do have many tips that we love to share!  If you have a question, ask.  If we don't have the answer, we will try to get one for you!

Nothing ruins a good day faster than equipment breakdown.   We can clean and tune your reels, as well as repair them.   And we will share maintenance information to help you keep your reels ready for action!  We are an authorized Zebco/Quantum Warranty Center, and an authorized repair center for Penn, Shimano, and Daiwa.  It has always been our policy to honestly evaluate repair options, helping the customer make the most cost-effective choice for their repairs.

It has always been our policy to honestly evaluate repair options, helping the customer make the most cost-effective choice for their repairs. Sometimes damage is hidden, and we cannot tel the extent until a reel has been completely disassembled.   In the event it is not cost-effective to repair your equipment, we will let you know.

Got a broken guide on a rod?  We can repair almost all rods, and most tips can be repaired while you wait.  We do not repair the rod guide itself.  all guides are replaced with new ones that are as close to the original as possible.  this involved stripping the thread and epoxy that hold the guide in place, and wrapping on a new guide.   Finally the thread is sealed with a 2 part epoxy finish.  This process can be somewhat of an art,   and we are proud of our repair staff and their ability to closely match sun faded threads, and thread colors that have been discontinued.
