Minn Kota Trolling Motor Service

Minn Kota Service

Betts Fishing Center is an authorized warranty service center for Minn Kota Trolling Motors.  Our Service techinicians are factory trained, and repairs are all done in house.

We always have a technician available Tuesday through Friday, but most of our staff can answer basic questions when a technician is not available, and motors can always be dropped off or picked up during our regular business hours.

Many service issues can be prevented by customer maintenance.   Please see our maintenance tips to prolong the life of your motor....

ALL Warrany Repairs require a purchase receipt!

If your motor is in warranty, WE NEED A COPY OF YOUR SALES RECEIPT TO PROVIDE WARRANTY SERVICE!

If you do not have your receipt, the warranty date will be the MANUFACTURE date of the motor, which could reduce your warranty period by a month or more. If you bought a closeout or discontinued model yesterday, and do not have the receipt, the motor could already be outof warranty.

Please understand that we don't get paid for our work or parts without a receipt showing the original purchase date.

Non Warranty Repairs

Non Warranty repairs are performed on an hourly labor rate plus parts.

We do require a $35 diagnostic fee up when the motor is dropped off.

Service times vary depending on parts availability and our current volume.
We try to get most repairs completed within a few days.

1.)

Fresh Water is your motor's best friend!   Just because Minn Kota motors are rated for use in Salt Water does not mean that they don't need to be rinsed off after use!  Dont use a hard spary, just rinse with a light shower setting.

In fact, even Freshwater motors benefit from a good rinse after being used - salt is not the only thing that will gum up a motor...Algae, mud, weeds, and silt can be a problem, too!

2.)

Even the best anglers in the world get line in their props.  Might not be yours-maybe you ran through line that was thoughtlessly discarded by someone else...

The bottom line, is that you should routinely pull your prop and check for line after every use

3.) Use the correct wiring, and battery set up for your motor.  Many intermittent problems are related to incorrect wiring.
