We do rod repairs on most rods, and our store also is an authorized service center (NOT WARRANTY) for Penn, Daiwa, Shimano, Quantum, and select other reels.  We are an Authorized Minn Kota Warranty and repair center.

Freshwater or saltwater, entry level or expert, our experience staff can help you find what you need.  All our repairs are done in-house.    Most rod tips can replaced while you wait.

Thanks for visiting Mako’s Tackle Supply, Inc., and Betts Fishing Center. We have supplied quality fishing tackle and custom rods in Pinellas County, Florida, for over 50 years, and we  specialize in personalized service.

Located in the Tampa Bay Area, we carry a large selection of rod building components and supplies, as wells as inshore and offshore saltwater fishing tackle, rods, reels, terminal tackle and lures. 

We are proud to host the Suncoast Rodcrafter, local rod building club, and our rod component selection is the largest in the area. 

Owners, Erich and PK Lichtenberger have been active in the Southern Kingfish Association since its inception, and we also stock the largest selection of Kingfish tackle in the area, including Cape Lookout Lures and Kingfish Koffin Products. 

Rod blanks include Seeker,  St. Croix, Rainshadow,   Seeker, Lamiglass, Gatorglass, Shakespeare, Graphite USA and more.  Our guide and component selection includes Fuji, Forecast/Batson,  AFTCO, and Perfection, and we are adding manufacturers constantly.

In addition, we stock products from Flexcoat, Gudebrod, Trondak (U-40), and a variety of others. If we don’t stock a particular item we will be happy to special order it for you.
